EM DEE .:Jan 21 09:.

A Couple of Artsy Flicks in '08 and Carlito .:Jan 05 09:.

This is the season to stay at home and watch movies, at least for me, so I kinda dug around and picked a couple of movies for aesthetic qualities.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is in French subtitles and sounds like a chick flick but the content will surprise you and give anyone hope for people who are locked in their own bodies.

Son of Rambow is a fun movie about childhood exploration and imagination while finding an identity. This movie has a brilliant style that many independents cannot emulate; I thought this was a good movie for anyone of any age, especially artistically inclined people. Its fun without being too far out, check it out after watching First Blood...

Carlitos Way the other day because its been on my list for a while. Can you ever watch this and think at the end that he won't get away; I think his closing monologue is one of the best in any movie.

Headnodic Rhetoric my mixtape will be available very soon on Freshcrate.com
Anyways Peace for 2008!!

3 Kings B-Boy Jam, January 17th 2009 .:Dec 31 08:.

3-on-3 B-Boy Jam.  Homegrown Blends will have a merch booth.  Romali and Jo_iLL will be DJ-ing.

Meeting of the Minds .:Dec 26 08:.

Since it was the holidays, and Romali and myself were in San Diego, the crew decided to meet at the "cheap-but-good" Dim Sum spot off of College Ave. KIDRAGON, who has just release a new Mix CD (Dope On Plastic Vol. 1) came through to chill out too.  We've been having these meetings on a regular basis for about 7 years now.  Lots of stuff in the works...keep an eye out!

New HGB stickers should be coming out very soon, as well as a mix CD from Existence 76.  I myself am working on a new mix CD, but my very first mix CD, "Slow On The Uptake" receives an official release.  Jaba's new one, "Silence is Golden but Duct Tape is Silver" (package designed by yours truly) was just released and will be available at the "Fresh Crate" very soon .

The photos are of all in attendance, except myself.  Existence was in the john when I took the picture...so he gets portrayed by his American Indian name, "Bear Skin"

Jo_iLL Recent Record Pickups .:Dec 20 08:.

So far my favorites are the Shafiq, Data Bwoy, and the Clutchy Hopkins / Shawn Lee collab.  FIRE! That DJ Cam record is something I have been searching for, and is worth the buy for the track "Success" alone.
