Bio: Raised on scratching from Buffalo Gals, beats from the Art of Noise, and rhymes from RUN DMC, Dj Bojo became involved with Hip Hop culture at a very young age.
Armed with a single Technics 1310 and a Boombox volume control, he was determined to someday emulate the sounds created by pioneers like Grand Wizard Theodore and Joe Cooley.
Fast forward a few hundred mobile dj gigs later, and the Original Turntable Lounge is born. Co founded by DJ Argonaut and colleague Marc Vidal, it is not so much a physical venue as it is a state of mind. The intent was to get music lovers and scratch fiends under one roof to enjoy beats that will probably never get radio play.
The infamous third (and sometimes even 5th and 6th!) turntable was a trademark of all Turntable Lounge events. They were the driving force behind making these events inclusive and inviting to all DJs who shared the same passion for scratch music. Everyone was encouraged to step up to the plate and tear it up!
Even though Turntable Lounge events are a thing of the past, the mentality behind them still lives on stronger than ever. For DJ Bojo, the goal is always to stay proactive and give back to a culture which has laid such a solid foundation for himself and the rest of the Homegrownblends Crew.
