I'm not sure if Keith Elam was the best rapper I've ever heard. I'm not sure that he was more than a one-dimensional Golden Voice. I'm not sure how I felt when he went into a coma in February under suspicious circumstance. I'm not sure how to feel about second and third hand stories about family/business associate beef during his comatose period. I wasn't sure how to feel when I heard of his passing yesterday. And then I thought about how sure I was that Gangstarr gave me so much vision into no bullshit music that represented skills and never fakeness or flash. I'm definitely sure that HARD TO EARN(1994) and MOMENT OF TRUTH(1998) cemented timeless classics for me and for many others. I'm sure that JAZZMATAZZ gave me insight into a backbone of music(JAZZ) that our generation needed to know about and to cherish. I'm sure to be thankful for someone like GURU who wanted influence people and to pass along a message without sounding too hard or emo. I know we lost a special vibe that will be hard to emulate and messenger that influenced many on his own terms. RIP GURU
